Rodney L. Grom, 60, of Peshtigo, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018 while tending his family's community garden plot.
Born Sept. 29, 1957 in Marinette, to Ronald and Shirlee Grom, after graduating from Peshtigo High School in 1975, he earned an Associate Degree from UW"Marinette. He married Cheryl Gabriel on Sept. 25, 1982 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grover. He worked for 30 years at Badger Paper Mills and 12 years at Akzo-Nobel in Howard.
He loved his children dearly and was known by all for his selflessness and pure heart.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his parents, Ronald and Shirlee; two sons, Brenton, of Wilmington, Del. and Clayton of Peshtigo; a brother, Scott (Marcia) of Peshtigo; his father-in-law, Roger Gabriel of Porterfield; his mother-in-law, Janet Chapman of Melrose, Mn. and many nieces; nephews; cousins and sisters and brothers-in-law.
Their daughter, Alyssa, preceded him in death on March 3, 1983.
Visitation and funeral services were held at Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home in Peshtigo on Monday, Aug. 13. Burial was held on Tuesday morning, Aug. 14 at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, beside his daughter.
