Robert Lee "Hoot" Hooten, 84, passed away Friday, Aug. 17, 2018 at his home.
Born March 30, 1934 in Oconto, to the late Peter and Gunda (Olson) Hooten, he graduated from Oconto High School. On June 4, 1955, he married the former Audrey Bloom in Brookside.
He worked at Twin Disc as a machinist, retiring after many years of service. A longtime member of Wisconsin Sportsman's Club, Eskimo Snowmobile Club and The Twin Disc 20 Year Club, he enjoyed trap shooting, snowmobiling and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Audrey; six children, Edward (Terri) Hooten, James Hooten, Connie (Bernie) Kupper, Scott (Donna) Hooten, David Hooten and Debra Hooten; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Doris Hooten; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Hooten on June 20, 2011 and four brothers, Edward, Alvin, Clifford and Clarence.
Visitation will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, 9000 Washington Ave (Hwy. 20) Racine on Friday, Aug. 24 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. A private burial ceremony will follow the visitation.
