Marion Elizabeth (Berger) Verbisky, 95, of Daggett, Mi., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018 at Bay Area Medical Center.
Born July 16, 1923 in Bagley, Mi., to the late Alfred and Emma (Wagner) Berger, she married Felix "Phil" Verbisky on Jan. 19, 1949 at St. Bruno Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 1989. She farmed alongside her husband and also managed Verbisky and Berger Evergreens from 1954-1985.
Well known for her famous dune buggy rides through the woods, her kitchen table was always the game table, any game, any kind of cards and any time of day or night was welcomed. She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, the Altar Society and was a founding member of West Bagley Homemakers where she was Homemaker Of The Year in 1986. She also was a Respite Care volunteer and member of the bowling league and couples pool league.
Survivors include a son, Michael (Lynette) of Bagley, Mi.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mabel (George) Eichhorn and Lucille (Jim) Douglass.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary; a sister, Ginny Schetter and a brother, Charlie Berger.
Family will receive friends at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home in Stephenson on Wednesday Aug. 29 from 4 p.m. until time of a Vigil Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Stephenson on Thursday, Aug. 30 from 4 p.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 5 p.m. Fr. Jacek Wtyklo will officiate followed by burial in Nadeau Township Cemetery.
