Beverly Wagner, 86, of Wallace, Mi., passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018 at River Breeze Adult Care Center in Wallace.
Born July 17, 1932 in Howell, Mi., to the late George and Theresa (Burkowski) Ellwort, she graduated from Howell High School in 1949. She worked at Michigan Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator where she met Joseph Cletus Wagner through an ad placed by him through a farming magazine. They married on Sept. 9, 1961 in Howell, Mi. and he preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1987.
They moved to Wallace and began farming on the Wagner Family farm. She raised eight children and helped him on the farm and later opened an in-home Daycare where she cared for and loved many children in the area.
She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, cheering for the Packers, gardening, canning, baking goodies for the kids and word puzzles, but mostly, time with family.
She is survived by eight children, Terri (Mark) Konas of Brighton, Mi., Ann (Mike) DeMille of Stephenson, Mi., Joe (Kelly) Wagner and George (Carri) Wagner, both of Wallace, Mi., Mary Moore (Bob Oles) of Boyne City, Mi., Naomi (Tim) Nelson of Burlington, Jason Wagner of Menominee, Mi. and Lisa (Mick) LaBelle of Farmington, Mi.; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by her husband Cletus; a son John and two grandchildren, Justine and Jarrett.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 1 at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until time of Prayers of Transfer at 10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Precious Blood Catholic Church with Monsignor Michael Steber officiating at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Kyle (Sheena), Brendon, Sean, Nathan, Connor and Riley. Acts of kindness and sympathy can be given to the Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association in her memory.
