Carol Bassen, 87, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018.
Born Dec. 3, 1930, to the late Arthur and Aurora "Aiti" Beyer, she was a lifelong member of Bethel Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She lived in the family home her entire life where she enjoyed holidays, family get-togethers, her yard and traveling, but especially her family.
She touched many lives, always caring and doing things for others to make them feel special and loved.
She is survived by a son, Paul Bassen; a daughter, Laura (Glenn) Johnson; a granddaughter-in-law; two great-grandsons; a grandson and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Leonard; two brothers, Roy and Clifford; four sisters, Myrtle, Mildred, Ruthie and Dorothy and a grandson, Brad.
Friends called at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Tuesday, Sept. 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the funeral services at 2 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Menominee. Rev. Scott Ehle officiated with burial in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
