Coleman School Board To Greet New Staff Sept. 17
Issue Date: September 13, 2018
At its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, Coleman School Board will meet and greet new staff members for the 2018-2019 school year. Superintendent Doug Polomis is expected to update the board on renovation projects made possible by last year's referendum vote, discuss School Safety Committee recommendations, and ask the board to schedule a special meeting for Monday, Oct. 8.
In addition to routine business, the board is also expected to approve memorandums of understanding with St. Anne Parish and Trinity Lutheran, both of Coleman, and accept a donation to the FFA from Culver's.
In his role as High School Principal, Polomis will report on the season kickoff banquet, school pictures, Homecoming Week, the Tackle Cancer event, and National Honor Society induction.
In his role as Superintendent, Polomis is scheduled to report on the teacher inservice programs, give the Safety Committee update, and discuss the third Friday student count, which affects funding from the state for the coming year.
Elementary/Middle School Principal Yvette Marshall will report on the start of the new school year, the open house, 4K parent outreach efforts, Camp Bird, the Washington, DC trip and school pictures.
The agenda allows for action on unspecified hirings, resignations, and other items that could be added prior to the meeting date.
