Robert "Bob" Olson, 70, of Coleman, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018.
Born May 1, 1948 in Menominee, Mi., to the late Kenneth and Phyllis (Lesperance) Olson, he graduated from Coleman High School in 1967 and married the late Joyce (Lentz) Olson in 1968.
A lifelong cheesemaker, he retired from Saputo Cheese in Lena and was a well known avid wood maker and craftsman. He enjoyed many sports and was active in bowling, baseball, fishing and golf. He was a member of the Coleman Lions Club.
He is survived by a daughter, Melissa "Missy" Olson; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Kathy (Olson) Bader; a brother-in-law, Wayne Bader; a sister, Julie (Olson) Schnell and Don Schnell; six sisters-in-law, Anna (Lentz) Engebretsen, Shirley (Lentz) Seymour, Carol (Lentz) Stark, Mary Lou Lentz, Karlene (Lentz) Martens and Karen (Lentz) Korpi; four brothers-in-law, Red Seymour, William Webber, Russell Martens and Jerry Korpi, and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; two brothers-in-law, Jack Stark and Kenneth Engebretsen; a sister-in-law, Laverne (Lentz) Webber and two nieces.
Family and friends are invited to honor his life at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Coleman on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 5 p.m. until time of a Memorial Mass at 6 p.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Coleman. Family and friends are welcome to attend a potluck dinner in the Church Hall after Mass.
