Richard "Dick" Anthony Maurer, 90, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018 at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette.
Born July 16, 1928 in Menominee, to the late Otto and Lane (Loerke) Maurer, he graduated from Menominee High School in 1946 and received a Bachelor's Degree from St. Norbert College. He married the former Jeannette Ciarkowski on Oct. 22, 1955 in Dearborn, Mi.
He was an accountant at V&M Electric Company for most of his career and later retired from Chrysler Corporation. An active member of Resurrection Parish, he was a former member of The Menominee Area Kiwanis Club.
He enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, reading and watching the Green Bay Packers.
Along with his wife of nearly 63 years, Jeannette, he is survived by a daughter, Dawn (Steve) Ahrens of Appleton; two sons, Todd Maurer of Washington, Mi. and Jay (Julie) Maurer of Wellington, Oh.; four grandchildren; a sister, Barbara (Jim) MacGinnitie of Georgia and other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James.
Visitation took place at Cadieu Funeral Home in Menominee on Monday, Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. until time of the Parish Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Parish. Fr. Brian Gerber presided with burial in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee. Donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry at Resurrection Parish or The Emergency Rescue Squad, Inc.
