John James Johnson, Jr., 68, of Hermansville, Mi., passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2018 at his home after a short battle with cancer.
Born Aug. 6, 1950 in Milwaukee, to the late John and Genevieve Johnson Sr., he was drafted into the United States Army in 1969 and served for two years during the Vietnam War. On May 10, 2010, he married the former Carol Olson in Menominee and worked as a welder for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Carol of Hermansville, Mi.; a daughter, Kerri Lynn Socha; two step-daughters, Nikki Ihander and Kelly (Joe) Spinnato, both of Powers, Mi.; a step-son, Brian Ihander of Minnesota; grandchildren; step-grandchildren and a brother, James Johnson.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters.
Visitation will be held at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home in Stephenson on Friday, Oct. 5 from 1 p.m. until time of a Military Service at 2:45 p.m. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Howard Kruize officiating.
