THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Sally A. Olson
Issue Date: October 11, 2018
Sally Ann (Salewski) Olson, 74, of Howard, passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018 with family by her side.
Born Nov. 21, 1943 in Coleman, to the late Myron and Adeline (Brault) Salewski, she graduated from Coleman High School and later earned a Cosmetology degree. She worked at St. Vincent Hospital in patient services for 12 years and married Allen Olson on Aug. 1, 1964 in Pound.
She had a laugh like no other, laughed often and to know her was to understand the meaning of happiness. Whether picking up candy from the parades for her grandchildren or being the only adult at the "kids table" for family functions, she lived life with a positive attitude. Her courage was immeasurable with her nine year battle with cancer.
Undergoing a stem cell transplant with the help of UW Madison Carbone Cancer Center along with Dr. Ryan and Associates of Green Bay Oncology, enabled her to celebrate "two birthdays" each year.
An avid Packer fan, she also loved visiting the casino, playing Bingo at The Salvation Army and spending time on the lake fishing with family.
Survivors include her husband, Allen; three children, Christina (Tom) Scanlan, Jill (Paul) Sobieck and Kerry Olson (Wendy Bauer); six grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Jacqueline (Merlin) Behling, Allan (Donna) Salewski, Jerry Salewski, Howard (Gaynell) Salewski and Jean (Michael) Merriman and three sisters-in-law, Beverly Salewski, Deanna Olson and Corrine Olson.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Jack and Patrick Salewski.
Family and friends may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., Howard on Thursday, Oct. 11 from 9:30 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Fr. Scott Valentyn officiating. Pfotenhauer Funeral Home of Green Bay is assisting the family with arrangements.
