Personal Trainer to Speak After Tragedy
Issue Date: October 18, 2018
Crivitz-St. Mary Church in Crivitz will host a talk from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14 in the Parish Hall by Seth Alfaro. The 22 year-old personal trainer from Grand Rapids, MI. has a passion for helping people achieve their health and fitness goals. Its personal to him, because he has had so much to overcome himself.
Just a year ago, Alfaro was an up and coming musician and rapper with big dreams of fame. But on Feb. 13, 2017, those dreams changed after a tragic accident left him in a coma for 2-1/2 weeks, fighting for his life. He suffered brain sheering-the most serious of brain injuries. The doctors didn't know if he would ever wake up again and while thousands of people from around the world prayed for a miracle, he was having an up close and personal experience with God that would not only heal him physically, but would also change who he was and who he wanted to become.
Alfaro still has dreams, but now they revolve around the One he met while in a coma, the God who gave him life, who healed him, whose love he felt, and who showed him He has a plan for his life.
While he loves his work as a personal trainer, he believes that God is asking him to help people not only physically, but also spiritually, through the sharing of his experiences, both through speaking and music.
The talk is free and open to the public. Area youth are especially invited. If questions, call the parish office at 715-854-2501.
