Ida F. (Silverman) Maske, 93, of Marinette, passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 14, 2018 at her home.
Born July 21, 1925 in New York City, to Isadore and Sadie Silverman, she lived her early life in New York and attended school there. In 1952, she married Ervin Maske and moved to his hometown of Marinette in 1953, where she lived the rest of her life, even though they later divorced.
She enjoyed many years bowling at the Marine House and served as President of the League for a term or two. She returned to New York City many times to visit friends, family and the Second Avenue Deli and her potato latke recipe will remain a family secret.
She worked for the City of Marinette Police Department as a Crossing Guard
for 30 years. After retirement she enjoyed senior activities, time at the Marinette Senior Center where she played bingo and was a longtime member of St. James Lutheran Church of Marinette.
She is survived by a daughter, Anita Jevne (Trygve Rhude) of Eau Claire; two granddaughters; two great-grandsons; a God daughter, Linda (Steve) Hayward of Illinois and locally survived by nieces, Mary Jo (Gary) DalSanto, Terry (Bill) Demler, Tama (Scott) Bergeon, Janet (Gary) Roberts and Jodi (Bill) Beesaw and many nieces and nephews out of town, including Herbert Silverman of Florida and Joan Ann (Luc) Hains of New Jersey.
Visitation will be held at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 1 p.m. until time of the services at 3 p.m. Rev. Kenneth Michaelis will officiate with burial in Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
