Michael Urban Jonas, 51, of Menominee, Mi., passed away unexpectedly Monday, Oct. 22, 2018.
Born April 23, 1967 in Menominee, he graduated from Abbot Pennings High School in 1985. He then earned a BA in Communications from UW-Milwaukee and a degree in Education from UW-Green Bay.
He spent over a decade working for the G.M. Popkey Company in sales and management and the last 14 years in the Special Education Department at Foxview Intermediate School in De Pere.
Known for his kindness and compassion, he loved his students and the special education staff. He enjoyed the water, including swimming, boating and fishing, reading and watching sports, especially the Brewers and also had a lifelong love of music. His smile and warmth will be missed.
Along with his parents, he is survived by three brothers, James M. Jonas (Janet Kelly), Daniel G. Jonas (Choon Yee Ho) and John P. Jonas (Jodi McCue); two nieces, Margaret K. Jonas and Eleanor L. Jonas; a nephew, Patrick J. Jonas; many aunts; uncles; cousins; other relatives and many close friends that were like family and meant the world to him.
A Memorial Service was held at Lambeau Field in the Champions Club on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 11:30 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life from noon to 2:30 p.m. Donations can be made to Foundation Fighting Blindness, 7168 Columbia Gateway Drive, Suite 100, Columbia, Md. 21046 www.FightBlindness.org Cotter Funeral Home of Green Bay assisted the family with arrangements.
