Lorrayne Agnes Theresa Surprise, 101, passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2018 at her home, where she lived all her life.
Valedictorian at Lourdes High School, she stopped attending UW-Green Bay to care for a sick Aunt. She rose from a stenographer to becoming an Acting Director of Social Services of Marinette County.
Even though, she had no siblings, was never married and outlived all her close relatives, their children's families kept in contact with her. She was kind, fair and loyal. She sought to live, even after losing her independence and she attended Church until her mobility was restricted.
She is survived by two best friends, Gloria Blankshien and Billie McGoran along with other special friends, Ellen, Terry, Vivian, Evelyn, Jim and Dave & his wife.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Victor.
Visitation was held at Holy Family Parish, St Joseph's Church, Carney Blvd. on Tuesday, Nov. 6th from 10 a.m. until time of a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Rev. Celestine Byekwaso officiated with burial in Forest Home Cemetery. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette assisted the family with arrangements.
