Lorraine A. (Hurson) Kahle, 88, of Peshtigo, passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018.
Born Nov. 6, 1929, in Chicago, Ill., to the late William and Hazel (Burkhead) Hurson, she had four children with her first husband, Robert Norlander and later married John Kahle of Tomahawk. She spent most of her life caring for others as a nursing assistant, home health aide and daycare worker.
At age of 64, she earned an early childhood degree and taught for four years with her daughter, Nancy, at Pooh's Corner Daycare. She also participated in the Grandparents' program in Menominee, Mi. for many years.
A devoted mother, grandmother and friend, she had a passion for life and liked simple pleasures. She enjoyed reading, traveling and cheering on the Cubs and Chicago Bears. She gave of herself to family and friends and will be missed for her beautiful smile, contagious laughter and kind spirit.
She is survived by two sons, Stephen (Laurie) Norlander and David Norlander; two daughters, Diane (George) Soli and Nancy (Danny) Smith; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Norlander; her second husband, John Kahle and a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Phyllis Hurson.
Visitation will be held at Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home in Peshtigo from 1 p.m. until time of the Memorial Service at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, with Pastor Archer Leupp officiating.
