Issue Date: November 15, 2018
Allan James Schuh, 78, of Naples, formerly of Pulaski, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018.
Born Nov. 27, 1939, to Nicholas and Anna Schuh, one of eight siblings, he grew up in Manitowoc and attended Lincoln High School in Manitowoc. He then graduated with teaching and accounting degrees from UW-Madison.
He met Arlene Sowell while working in Milwaukee as an accountant and they married and had two children, Michael and Diane. They divorced after 12 years of marriage and he briefly taught high school in Crivitz and then taught History for 26 years at Pulaski High School.
He retired at age 53 and spent his time traveling and fishing. While vacationing in Florida, he met Patricia Stein and they married and were together for 20 years until his death.
He had a quiet demeanor, a keen intellect and enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up. He loved to fish, play cards, attend sporting events and travel. Later in life, he enjoyed playing horseshoes in the Florida sun.
Although he had end stage Alzheimers disease and was forgetful, his family and friends will remember the memories they had with him.
He is survived by two children, Dr. Michael James (Mindy) Schuh of Denmark and Diane Marie (Paul) Walker of Montello and five grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by all of his siblings.
A Celebration of Life open house to reflect on his life will be held for family and friends at the home of Michael and Mindy Schuh on Sunday, Nov. 25 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. If attending, RSVP to 715-240-9745.
