Richard W. JensenIssue Date: November 15, 2018
Richard "Rich" Walter Jensen, 45, of Pound, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Nov. 2, 2018.
Born Aug. 5, 1973, in Green Bay to Harry and Audrey (Leisner) Jensen, he was a carpenter by trade and was gifted in construction and restoration. He took pride in his work and was amazing at what he did and how he helped others with home improvements.
With his love and talent for animals, a gift given to him by God, he also successfully owned and operated an animal control business.
His pride and joy were his children, Bailey and Reno and his dogs. He was proud of all of them and always shared that with everyone. They were his happy place.
He enjoyed fishing, always shared his secrets, caught more fish than anyone else, loved the water, being on the boat and sunshine on his face.
Fishing with family and friends and telling stories about his big catch was his favorite things to do along with fish fry's afterwards. He was at home being in the woods with family, foraging for wild mushrooms and blackberries and hunting. He shared anything he gathered or hunted with his family and friends and was an excellent cook.
Even though he loved the Packers, his heart was with the Pittsburgh Steelers and watched them live on TV and recorded the Packer games so he could either watch later or go in the woods. He had a big heart and will be missed.
He is survived by a daughter, Bailey Ann Jensen; a son, Reno James Jensen; his parents, Harry and Audrey Jensen; two sisters, Shelly Jensen and Sandra Jensen; nieces and nephews, Emilie Hujet, Lydia (Andrew) Kent, Lyra Kent, Phoebe Hujet, Elliot Hujet, Malarie Jensen, Seth Jensen-Younk and Evelynn Jensen-Challe and lifelong friends, Jaimie and Tom.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Walter and Marian Leisner and paternal grandparents, Richard and Mary Jensen.
Visitation will be held at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay on Wednesday, Nov. 21 from 11 a.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 1 p.m., with Rev. Gerry Mathisen officiating.
