Girls Basketball Season Begins With STAA Win

Season With Win
The St. Thomas Aquinas Cavaliers took to the court this past Tuesday and despite having so few practices, showed they have some talent on this years roster.
The Cavaliers were victorious against the Goodman Pembina Patriots Tuesday night in Marinette 57-48.
The nice nine point win isn't a bad placate start for the season. And leading scorer Alexa Pristelski showed that you can be ready to play when the season begins, as she piled up a game leading 26 points. She had one three pointer.
Hallie Baranek chipped in 13 points while Kianna Bulin posted 10 points on the evening.
STAA started the game in a heated shootout that saw both teams neck and neck with STAA ahead 27-25. Pristelski got things going with nine first half points.
Goodman/Pembine's Morrison led the way for the Patriots with 16 points on the evening.
Coleman Keeps it Close
in Season Opener
The Coleman Cougars were unable to defeat the home court Oconto Blue Devils Tuesday night, but fought had the whole way and it showed as the Cougars took a heart breaking four point season opening loss.
Though they were able to bring down a very tough team, the Cougars certainly looked good doing it.
Coleman's Cameron Compe showed a very good first look for the season as she piled up 19 points to lead the Coleman scorers. Teammate Michaela Zeitler posted nine on the night while Hailey Ziemer got 11 points.
Top scoring honors went to Oconto's Mara Allen, who went completely wild in her season opener, amassing a whopping 33 points.17 of her points came from the free throw line.
