Born and raised in Green Bay, she earned a degree in Education from UW-Madison and married Robert Newell. They lived in Waukesha where they raised two children and eventually retired in Cedar River, Mi.
She was a teacher, devoted Presbyterian and a good Samaritan to anyone she knew. She loved the outdoors, time with family, a good laugh and a nice drink.
She suffered with dementia for over seven years, and although the disease took her mind, it didn't touch her beautiful, kind soul. Her generous, positive spirit and love of singing and music, continued to shine when words were a struggle.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Newell; a sister, Mary Torinus (Tom); a son, Christopher Newell (Sarah); a daughter, Mary Becker (Marc); four grandchildren and many dear family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Becky and Donald Sharp; a brother, Don Sharp Jr. (Shirley) and a niece, Julie Newell.
A private Memorial Service will be held. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home of Stephenson is assisting the family with arrangements.
