Donald Lawrence "Phil Bomb" Phelps, 79, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018.
Born Sept. 10, 1939 in Menominee, Mi., to the late Fred and Dolores Phelps, he worked at Marinette Marine for many years as a welder and was a jack of all trades.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, family gatherings, hunting, fishing, going to casinos, riding his moped and was the best storyteller in the family and kept the cops busy.
He married the former Theresa Johnson and they had three children. He later married the former Bev Flitter and became a dad to her five children.
He is survived by three children, Cheryl (Kevin Herring) Petersen, Donny Phelps and Fred Phelps; Bev's children, Dean Galleske, Donny Galleske, Deanna Salzman and Danny Galleske; siblings, Rose (John) Klatt, Wally (Wendy) Majkrzak, Jr. and Dolores (Ken) Marklein; seven grandchildren; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents and his wife, Bev, he was preceded in death by Bev's son, Dwight Galleske; three sisters, Darlene (Tony) Kazaluckas, Mary Beaudo and Geraldine Gibbs and a brother, Richard Phelps.
Visitation will be held at St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Stephenson on Wednesday, Nov. 28 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., followed by a Memorial Tribute and concluding with a Prayer Service at 6 p.m. A memorial fund will be established. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family with arrangements.
