Joanne (Iverson) Behrend, 86, of Menominee, MIi., passed away Friday Dec. 7, 2018 at her home.
Born Aug. 27, 1932 in Bark River, Mi., to the late Melvin and Frances (Olson) Iverson, she graduated from Bark River High School and St. Mary's School of Nursing in Green Bay. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility, St. Joseph Lloyd Hospital, Bay Area Medical Center and many other hospitals across the U.P., Wisconsin and Lower Peninsula.
She enjoyed poetry, well written mystery novels and traveling the country in their RV, but mostly being with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church where she served on the Parish Council.
Survivors include her husband, Charles of Menominee; five children, Charles (Patricia) of Cheltenham, England, Anne (Joseph) Levandoski of Marquette, Mi., Daniel (Barbara) of Waunakee, Steven (Jane) of Augusta, Ga. and Eric (Adrenia) of Fort Worth, Tx.; 18 grandchildren and a sister, Jerre (Martin) Henriksen of Yorkville, Ill.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Visitation will take place at Anderson Kell Funeral Home in Menominee on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 10:45 am., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Fr. Brian Gerber will officiate with burial in Bark River Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Menominee Senior Center.
