William (Bill) Edmund Ruelle, 77, of Daggett, Mi., passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, surrounded by his wife and family at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
Born June 4, 1941, to the late Edmund and Irene (Betters) Ruelle, he was raised in Niagara by his father Ed and mother Emily (Canavera) Recla-Ruelle. He attended Niagara High School before serving in the United States Navy, receiving an honorable discharge after boot-camp. He married Susanna Mae (Streich) Ruelle of Milwaukee on Jan. 13,1961 and they had five children.
His work ethic started at age seven, working for the VanHoula family farm, selling garden fresh vegetables door to door in Niagara. He worked hard to support his family and sometimes worked two or more jobs. An avid deer hunter and fisherman, he loved his garden.
He worked in Milwaukee for WJ Lazinski and Kenny Construction until retiring, but before retiring, he met Darlene (Alfirevic) Daugherty and they married on April 4, 2004 in Chicago, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene; children from his first marriage, Yvonne (Richard) Deyo, Yvette (Paul) Smet, Greg (Joy), Darryl (Monica) and JonPaul (Valerie); 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a step-daughter, Sue (Jeff) Leonard; three step-children; a step-brother, Eugene Recla and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret (Ruelle) Grumbo-Kluth and her first husband Elwood Grumbo; a step-brother, Pat Recla; a daughter-in-law, Crystal Ruelle; a step-son, Rick Vanderveck; a grandson, Levi Ruelle (Darryl and Monica); a great-grandson, Muir Deyo (Holland and Jill) and unborn child of Ricarda Deyo.
Per his request, no service will be held a this time. A Celebration of Life will be held in June of 2019.
