Roger Allen Konop, 74, of Gillett, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 surrounded by family at the Unity Hospice Meng Residence of DePere, after a brief illness.
Born March 12, 1944 in Lena, to the late Joseph and Angeline (Svejda) Konop, he married Shirley A. (Bader) on May 11, 1963 and they raised four children. He formed RAL Cement Contractors with two business partners and friends where he worked until retiring.
An avid hunter, he also enjoyed gardening with his wife, woodworking and socializing and will be missed.
He is survived by four children, Lisa (Bob) Johnson of Greenleaf, Jeff (Jackie) Konop of Woodbury, Mn., Deb (Jeff) Edler of Maribel and Jodi (Josh) Tousey of Green Valley; six grandchildren; four siblings Wilbur, Leonard (Mary Ann), Larry (Luella) and Judy and other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; a brother, Ronald Konop and five sisters, Jeanette Neveau, Marian Rost, Rose Marie Krejcarek, Mildred Grooms and Sharon LaFond.
Memorial Visitation will be held at Legacy Funeral Chapels, 108 E. Main Street, Gillett on Saturday, Jan. 5 from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m., with burial in St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
