Arlene B. (Szweda) Wolfe, 97, of Oconto Falls, passed away Monday evening, Jan. 14, 2019 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Oconto Falls.
Born June 16, 1921 in Oconto Falls, to Louis and Agnes (Simpson) Szweda, she grew up in Oconto Falls where she attended public schools and graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1938. She then moved to Milwaukee where she worked as a waitress.
On Jan. 30, 1943, she married Harold K. Wolfe and they lived in Oconto Falls, where she worked at Jefferson Elementary School as an aide for 20 years.
A member of Oconto Falls United Methodist Church, she was active in the Ladies Aide and volunteered for an area nursing home, the hospital auxiliary and NEWCAP. She enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds and taking care of her home.
Survivors include three children, Robert "Bob" (Dawn) Wolfe, Kingsford, Mi.; Nancy Wolfe, Oconto Falls and Susan (Doug) Williams, Plymouth, Mn.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold in 1971; two children, Dave and Gary Wolfe; a sister, Doris Szweda and her in-laws, Karl and Grace Wolfe.
Private family services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Oconto Falls. Jones Funeral Service of Oconto Falls is assisting the family.
