Noreen S. (Whitman) Smith, 74, of Pulaski, passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019 at home with family at her side.
Born June 2, 1944, in Appleton, to George and Marcelline (Van Enkenvoort) Whitman, she graduated from of Appleton High School in 1962 and worked at Allstate as a secretary for a short time. On June 6, 1964, she married Richard L. Smith at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton and he preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 2017. The couple had a small hobby farm in Sparta until moving to Angelica where they purchased a dairy farm on June 1, 1970.
A dedicated homemaker, farm wife, mother and proud grandmother, they enjoyed traveling with many trips to Hawaii, Alaska, Las Vegas, Arizona and Florida.
She liked watching Wheel of Fortune, was a Little House on the Prairie fanatic and enjoyed gambling and playing Yahtzee.
Survivors include two sons, Tim (Barb) Smith and Tom Smith, both of Pulaski; a grandson; three siblings, Denise Opper, Seymour, Karen (Wayne) Kruse, Suring and George Jr. (Teri) Whitman, Greenleaf; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard on Dec. 23, 2017; two infant sisters, Naomi and Sandra; a brother, Ronald Whitman and a brother-in-law, Collins Opper.
Friends may call at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 119 E. Pulaski Street, Pulaski on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. until time of a Funeral Mass at noon, with Fr. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M., presiding. Entombment will take place in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum at a later date. No flowers please, per request of the family.
