Born Sept. 20, 1933, to Marion (Liptack) and Joseph Haines, she graduated from Marinette High School in 1951 and worked at Lauerman's Department Store. She married Charles E. Swanson on March 5, 1953 and he preceded her in death on June 6, 1978. They had a milk delivery business and owned Swanson's Grocery Store.
She then worked at H.G. Thill and Sons from 1983 to 2002 in Marinette. In 1983, she married Warren D. Goodlet and he preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 2003.
A member of First United Methodist Church, she also belonged to the "Clubbers" for over 60 years. She was an avid Packer and Badger fan, loved traveling, enjoyed doing crafts for family and friends and after retirement she volunteered at Bay Area Medical Center.
She is survived by three daughters, Sharon (James) Kass of Menominee, Karen (David) Bickel of Yuma, Az. and Carol Swanson of Marinette; three sons, Steven (Sharlotte), Andrew (Diane) and David Swanson, all of Marinette; a step-son, David (Gwyn) Goodlet of Glendale, Az.; a step-daughter, Jane Casperson of Menominee; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four step-granddaughters; two step-great-granddaughters; a brother, Jerry (Bonnie) Haines; three sisters, Bette Stodola, Sally Kniskern and Ann Hancheck and many nieces and nephews.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and John; a sister, Patsy; two brothers-in-law, Jim and Robert; a step-daughter, Judy; a step-son-in-law, Buster; a step-grandson and two great-step-grandchildren.
Friends called at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Monday, Jan. 21 from 2 p.m. until time of the services at 4 p.m., followed by a gathering. Memorial donations in her memory can be made to Bay Area Cancer Center, Unity Hospice or First United Methodist Church.
