Thomas E. Bell, 73, a resident of Carrington Assisted Living in Green Bay passed away Sunday Jan. 20, 2019.
Born May 14, 1945 in the Town of Oconto, to the late Wallace and Vivian (Brabant) Bell, he attended Victory School and graduated from Lena High School in 1963. He served in the United Staes Marines from August 1963 to December 1967 with two tours in Viet Nam. He worked 38 years at Brown County Mental Health Center, retiring in 2006.
He loved football and treasured his high school trophy he received for MVP M&O Conference 1963. He enjoyed animals and took care of many stray kittens until moving to the assisted living facility.
He is survived by his wife, Wendie; three children, Bill, John and Jody Bell; three sisters, Mary Ann (Melvin) Olson of Lena, Donna (Howard) Van Hulle of Oconto Brenda (James) Svejda of Oconto and a brother, Daniel Bell of Milwaukee.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ward (Ella) Bell, Lawrence (Sharon) Shallow, Steven (Doris) Shallow and Earl (Lois) Shallow; three sisters, Margie (Cyril) Bader, Jeanne (Warren) Scheffen and Yvonne (Ralph) Tiegs.
Family will greet relatives and friends at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Stiles on Friday Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Rev. Joel Sember will officiate followed by Military Rites. Burial will be in Oconto Catholic Cemetery. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Oconto is assisting the family with arrangements.
