Peter Milroy, 78, of Daggett, Mi., passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019 at home.
Born July 29, 1940 in Superior, to the late Dorothy Milroy, he joined the United States Navy in 1958 and served until an honorable discharge in 1961. He worked as an AODA counselor of mental health and was a member of Narcotics Anonymous, where he counseled and helped many people through the years.
He enjoyed road trips, adventures, fishing and camping, but especially loved his family, grand-children and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his significant other, Kathy Ovens of Daggett, Mi.; seven children, Michelle (Jim) Coldren, Jessie (Ira Fain) Cheer-Fain and Tom (Sarah) Cheer, all of Daggett, Zach Milroy of Waukesha, Brian (Wendy) Cheer of Pipe, Judy (Jeff) Brazeau of Gladstone, Mi. and Rob Cheer of Fon du Lac and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren and NA siblings.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb. 9 from 3 p.m. until time of Military Honors presented by the American Legion Post 43 at 4:45 p.m., followed by Pastor Damian Garcia. Acts of kindness or sympathy can be directed to a family member.
