Town Talks About Crivitz Fire District

The Town of Stephenson Building and Grounds Committee meeting was called to order at 7 pm with Borad plus12 others present.
CSM # 2019-1 was approved for Thomas J. McGuire RLS for Boss Storage LLC / Brian Feucht for 1 lot in part of the SE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Sec. 8, T32N, R19E, with ingress and egress to Hawk Lane.
Officer Mike Frievalt requested that the Town Board petition Marinette County to open County Road W from Airport Road to Acorn Lane for ATV use. He stated it is needed to connect to a trail. There is no other route that he sees as a passable way to connect. The item was approved.
Discussion on the Town receiving a small parcel of land with a historical burial site and establishing perpetual maintenance was tabled to the next meeting.
Sup. Lieuwen and Jane continue to work with the State to complete changes to the manufactured home inspection report.
At Ordinance, Finance, and Public Safety meeting at 7:09 pm it was discussed with the Village of Crivitz fire personnel on creating a fire district with several municipalities ended with the Committee stating they would look at the information. It will be placed on the next meeting agenda.
Sup. Solway presented a base wage sheet for the Public Works employees. He stated it extends raises to 10 years rather than the previous four year chart. He would like to check with the Chairman and take it to the Board for approval. After approval, it will be presented to the Union. A motion to take it to the Board for approval was given.
Solway reminded all employees of the Town of Stephenson that Section 045 of the Employee handbook states Town employees may not use, possess, distribute, sell, or be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs while on Town premises or while conducting any Town-related activity away from Town of Stephenson premises.
Discussion on the fire department joining MABAS will be put off to a later date. Solway attended the last fire department meeting and they talked about looking in to it. He will wait to see what they find out and take it up again if necessary.
