Ruth M. Turner, 87, of Pewaukee, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019 with family by her side at LindenGrove in Waukesha.
Born Nov. 1, 1931 in Menominee, Mi., to Edwin and Edna (Carlson) Henes, she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics from Michigan State University. She was a member of the Vagabond Ski Club where she met her husband Charles and they married on Oct. 19, 1963.
She worked as the food service banquet manager for Marquette University, but her pride and joy was raising her four children. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, traveling and gardening, and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Charles of Pewaukee; three children, Susan (Jonathan) Darling of Green Bay, Charles A. Turner of Waukesha and Julie (Leo) Haideman of Pewaukee; six grandchildren; a sister, Sally (Frederick) Walter of Menomonee Falls; a sister-in-law, Greta Larson of Menominee and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Turner; a brother, Robert Henes and a brother-in-law, John Larson.
Visitation was held on Friday, Feb. 1 with Rev. David Simmons presiding. Interment was private. Memorials are appreciated to St. Matthias Episcopal Church. Randle Dable Brisk Funeral Home, Crematory and Preplanning Services of Waukesha assisted the family.
