Jerome "Jay" J. Haines, Jr., 49, of Marinette, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019, after a brief illness.
Born June 24, 1969 in Marinette to Bonnie and Jerome (Jerry) J. Haines, Sr., he graduated from Marinette High School in 1987. After graduation, he served in the United States Marine Corps from July of 1987 until discharge in 1992 and was proud to be called a Marine.
He returned to Marinette and worked at L. E. Jones Co. of Menominee as a general laborer and then advanced to his recent position of Shift Supervisor. He enjoyed time with family and friends at Camp Tiki, Larry's shop and being at hunting camp.
He is survived by a daughter, Victoria "Tori" Haines of Hamilton, Ms.; his fiancé, Tabitha Baxter; his parents, Bonnie and Jerry Haines, Sr; a sister, Kerry (Jim) Semrau and two nephews, Cory and Cody Semrau and their families, all of Marinette; aunts; uncles; many cousins; Tabitha's parents, Bob and Sue; Tabitha's sons, Max and Sam Albert and Tori's mother, Jeanessa Frazier.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; two aunts and three uncles.
Friends may call at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Thursday, Feb. 28 from 3 p.m. until time of services at 7 p.m., followed by an honors ceremony conducted by the Military Twenty-Year Club and the United States Marine Corps. A memorial fund was established for the support of local veterans.
