Norman W. Haapapuro, 83, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019 at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette.
Born March 21, 1935 in Hancock, Mi., to the late Henry and Hilja (Hanson) Haapapuro, he married Loretta Moilanen in Hancock, Mi. on Oct. 11, 1958. He worked in the steel industry and woodworking, including Thompson Boats and Emerson Electric from where he retired in 2005.
A member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Marinette, he loved home projects and enjoyed spending time outdoors in the woods and cutting firewood.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Loretta; two sons, Jimmy (Rita) Haapapuro of Menasha and Andy (Anita) Haapapuro of Arlington Heights, Ill.; three daughters, Wendy Watkins of Springville, Tn., Lori (Tom) Keffer of Kennesaw, Ga. and Sheree Haapapuro of Burlington; a brother, Bruce Haapapuro of Houghton, Mi.; four sisters, Norma Rapelja of Livonia, Mi., Evelyn Killmar of Elk Cajon, Ca., June Barry of Collegedale, Tn. and Karen McKee of Waterford, Mi.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home in Marinette on Saturday, March 2 from 1 p.m. until time of a Memorial Talk at 2 p.m., given by Brother Don Carlson.
