Roger W. Davis, 73, of Marinette, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2019 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay, surrounded by family.
Born May 3, 1945 in Marinette, to the late Warren and Elsie (Winkler) Davis, he graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1963 and served four years in the United States Air Force. He then attended UW-Marinette and Moraine Park Technical Institute.
He married Sharon Lindbom on May 24, 1975 at First United Methodist Church in Marinette and worked as a district parts and service representative for Case/IH and Kawasaki Construction Equipment Company of North America, retiring in 2010. He flew over three million air miles, meeting many new people, never knew a stranger and was always ready with a good joke and opinion.
He loved to trap shoot, hunt, fish and spend time at the family cabin in Silver Cliff, but especially time with his children and grandchildren. A member of the American Legion Post 146, he also belonged to the Peshtigo Gun Club and Menominee Woods and Streams Sportsman's Club.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; two children, Brian (Chrissy) Davis of Marinette, and Shawna (Ryan) Byrne of Charleston, S.C.; three grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Lois Davis and many cousins and friends.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Judy Berg and Shirley Gratto; a brother, Howard; two brothers-in-law, Einar Berg and Everett Gratto and a nephew Einar Jon Berg.
Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church in Marinette on Saturday, March 2 from 9 a.m. until time of service at noon. Rev. Kevin Dembinski will officiate followed by a luncheon. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family with arrangements.
