Nancy A. Currie, 72, of Oconto Falls, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019 with her daughter at her side.
Born June 24, 1946 in Green Bay, to the late Victor and Doris (Ferrington) Seidel, she graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1965. She met Gary Currie in July of 1965 and they married three months later on Nov. 19, 1965. They shared 51 years of marriage before his passing in 2017. She worked as a Dietary Aide in Oconto Falls, a job she loved, allowing her to be a caretaker to all she met. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, she was famous for her pancake breakfasts she made for her grandchildren.
A gifted cook, she enjoyed camping, visiting and drinking coffee with her girlfriends and sitting at the campfire listening to her husband play his guitar. She was there for anyone that needed her and put others before herself. She loved animals, especially her two canine companions. She had a generous nature and kind heart.
Survivors include five children, Joe (Joy Purseglove) Morrow, of Sault St. Marie, Mi., Sherry (Salvatore) Scimemi and Gary (Becky) Currie, both of Stiles, Marsha (Rudy) LeRoy of Suring and Jason Currie of Butternut; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Sally (Bob) Kulhanek and Victor Seidel, both of Stiles; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Currie and Stella Currie, both of Hessel, Mi.; a special best friend and cousin, Judy (Eddie) Wolf, of Suring and a special best friend and aunt, Pat Funk of Green Bay.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary; in-laws, Rose and Roy Currie and an infant granddaughter, Leanne LeRoy.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer Green Bay Chapel, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay on Friday, March 1 from 1 p.m. until time of the service at 3 p.m.
