Mildred B. (Hellermann) Christianson, 98, passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2019 in Marinette, with her niece at her side.
Born July 24, 1920 in Milwaukee, to Max and Alma (Jetter) Hellermann, she married Jack Christianson in Milwaukee on July 12, 1941 and spent much of her life in Omaha, Ne., where the Hellermann's and Jetter's settled after immigration to the United States from Germany/ Poland.
The Hellermann family also spent many years in Milwaukee until settling in Marinette. After marriage, she returned to Omaha and also the Christianson cabin at Hanson's Lake. Those summers at the lake showed her interest in fishing, swimming, cooking and bridge. She also spent time visiting in Marinette, where her parents relocated and her father co-founded Marinette Marine Corporation. Her three siblings and many other relatives were also in Marinette.
A warm, witty woman, she was always ready with a quip, a quote, a cut or a compliment. She was good with numbers, kept the books for a jewelry store in Omaha and for other businesses and always ready for tax filing day, even at 98, making sure all the paperwork was in order. The last several years she was at Renaissance and Sun Valley in Marinette.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce and Brad (Julie); three grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack and three siblings, Erwin, Louis and Lois Hellermann.
No services were held. Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home of Marinette assisted the family.
