Cora M. (Fandrey) Schultz, 92, of Gillett, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 20, 2019.
Born June 19, 1926 in Town of Hutchins, to the late William R. and Emma (Kielman) Fandrey, she married Marvin C. Schultz on Sept. 22, 1951 at St. Paulus Church in the Town of Almon and they raised one daughter, Jane. They made their home in Gillett where she worked at the Canning Factory during summers for many years.
A longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, she was active in many ministries including Ladies Aide and the annual Church Bazaar. She loved flower gardening, looked forward to planting flowers each year, read prayer books, loved listening to "her polkas" and will be remembered for riding her bicycle around town for many years.
A spiritual, loving woman, she was an amazing mother and grandmother, with her greatest joy being her family and time with loved ones.
She is survived by a daughter, Jane (Randy) Bigelow; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild and many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin on March 8, 1993; siblings, Ada (Al) Umland, Emmaline (Ed) Kuehn, Derwin (Helen), Norman (Caroline), Donald (Bernice) and an infant brother, Arnold Fandrey.
Friends and relatives called on the family on Friday, March 22 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Legacy Funeral Chapels in Gillett. Visitation continued at St. John's Lutheran Church in Gillett on Saturday, March 23 from 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. Pastor Kent Wallace officiated with burial in Wanderer's Rest Cemetery.
