John Pakulski "Big John", 70, of Townsend, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 with family by his side.
Born Nov. 3, 1948, he married Mary Briski in Racine on Aug. 11, 1967 and worked for Asplundh Tree Service for many years and managed Pintsch's Sport Shop. He also drove school bus for the Wabeno School District for 24 years, where he formed many special bonds with the children.
A Scout Master for the Townsend/Lakewood Cub Scouts, he belonged to St. Mary's of the Lakes Catholic Church in Lakewood, where he was a member for 50 years. He enjoyed gardening, lawn work, his swimming pool and decorating for the Holidays, but especially loved time with his grandchildren and great-grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; a daughter, Julie (Gerard) Baugnet of Townsend; a son, Patrick (Tiffany) Pakulski of Wabeno; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Theresa Jankowski; a daughter, Leanne and a sister, Ruth Lorenz.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary's of the Lakes Catholic Church in Lakewood on Friday, March 29 rom 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, March 30 at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Fr. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep will officiate with burial in Forest Home Cemetery in Townsend. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home of Suring is assisting the family with arrangements.
