Nancy Doris (Busch) Strem, 90, of Bark River, Mi., passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019, at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba, surrounded by family.
Born Feb. 13, 1929 in Milwaukee, to Linus J. and Adelaide (Breckheimer) Busch, she graduated from Menominee High School in 1947 and married Harry "Bud' Strem on July 18, 1953 at Epiphany Catholic Church in Menominee. She worked at Michigan Bell Telephone Company in Menominee.
Together they shared almost 66 years of marriage and raised three children. In 1955, they relocated to Escanaba, Mi. and later to Bark River, Mi. in 1974. In 1968, she returned to work at Michigan Bell Telephone Company in Escanaba where she began as an operator and later worked as a service clerk until retiring in 1986.
A member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Bark River, she loved time with her family and going to their cottage on Lake Michigan. She enjoyed shopping with her friend, Colleen, was an avid reader and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds.
She is survived by her husband, Harry "Bud' Strem of Bark River; three children, Patti (Tim) Gould and Marcia (Ken) Bower, both of Bark River and Bill (Bonnie) Strem of Escanaba; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Gale (Kathy) Busch of Green Bay and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Busch.
Visitation was held, Tuesday, April 2 at Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Bark River with Father Darryl J. Pepin officiating. Burial will take place in Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette. The Anderson Funeral Homes of Escanaba and Gladstone are assisting the family.
