Gerald D. Shepherd, 87, of DePere, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at his home.
Born May 24, 1931, in Jump River, to Kenneth and Susan (Stunner) Shepherd, he grew up on his family's farm near Ladysmith in Western Wisconsin and after graduation, he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
After service, he owned his own farm and later moved to Marinette and opened an electronics company he ran for many years. He was a member of the Elks Club and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Shepherd; a son; four step-children and their spouses; 24 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by Bethel Shepherd; a son, David Shepherd and two brothers, Kenneth and Walter Shepherd.
A memorial gathering was held on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home from 2:30 p.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 4:30 p.m., followed by Military Honors.
