Junior High/High School Principal, Jared Deschane began his report by congratulating Sherri Schlies and Joe Lanich for their April 2nd School Board Election victory and thanked them their continued service to the school district. Deschane went on to say that 48 Wisconsin School Districts went to referendum with a total of 59 questions, of those questions, 75% passed.

"The District completed the land purchase which was approved at the January 9, 2019 Board meeting of a half acre for the potential of a possible safe walk to school route.

Deschane wrapped up this report with information on a newly developing Military Wall of Honor. This is the School District's way of recognizing alumni from the Wausaukee School District who have served or who continue to serve in the Military. The design of the wall will allow the School District to add names throughout the years. The goal is to have the first round of names displayed by graduation day which is Sunday, May 19th.

Pinarelli spoke on Gap analysis including the current state versus where the committee would desire to be. The committee would like to work with other committee chairs on developing content committees that would facilitate K-12 curriculum work and to continue the collaboration with CESA in science and social studies to emphasize a connection between the content areas through the practices and frameworks.

K-12 Art Teacher Cheri Leiphart presented a PowerPoint to the Board including art examples from each grade level which was explained in detail.

The Board reinstated the High School Cheerleading Program as a club sport, under the direction of Kara Wojcik who was approved as the volunteer Cheerleading Coach.

The Board convened into closed session to discuss two items: Preliminary Notice(s) of Nonrenewal and Administrative Restructuring. The Board reconvened back into open session and took action on both items. Motion to approve the preliminary notice of nonrenewal passed with a 6:0 vote. The motion on Administrative Structure was passed by a 5:1 vote, with the retirement of current District Administrator, Bob Berndt at the end of June. Current Junior High/High School Principal, Jared Deschane will take over July 1, 2019 as District Administrator/High School Principal grades 9th through 12th. Current Elementary Principal, Katey Ambrose will become the Elementary/Middle School Principal grades 4K through 8th. Berndt said this will be a very smooth transition for both students and staff.
