AgVenture Day at Coleman May 8

AgVenture Day took place at Coleman School on May 8th with the help of Coleman FFA and Marinette County Farm Bureau. The focus of the AgVenture day was Ag at Home. The major topics where gardening, dog nutrition and training, poultry, small tractor and machinery safety, and a petting zoo.
Kasidae Soderbeck, Jesse Borchert, Reese Darga, Megan Seefeldt, and Dakota Birr served as tour guides for the event. Alex Prestine and Noah Chang worked together to educate students about dog nutrition and training. John Zirbel and Ember DeWitt brought in chickens and taught the students about poultry and the stages of hatching. Logan Liptak, Emily Cudnohosky, and Evan Stank talked about tractor and skid steer safety. In the greenhouse, Jesse Meyer, Cahl Szabo, and Devin Bort helped the students plant sunflower seeds and taught them about gardening. Owen Messenger, Zach Marquardt, Morgan Messenger, Alex Rennie, Alexandria Broderick, and Paige Nowak worked the petting zoo station. The petting zoo had a rabbit, goats, chickens, kittens, beef calves, and a puppy. Blake Forner served as Miss Wautier's assistant and Lily Charapata served as the event photographer.
The weather was chilly but the AgVenture Day educated over 350 students. Highlights of the day were that students were able to bring home some special pet treats and a personal sunflower greenhouse.
