THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Gloria Kainz Named Crivitz Village Trustee
Issue Date: May 29, 2019
At a special meeting on Tuesday, May 21, Crivitz Village Board approved Gloria Kainz as the new trustee to fill the vacancy created when former Trustee Kurt Kostuch resigned to accept the Village President position to which he was elected on Tuesday, April 2.
The board agreed to again contract with the Town of Stephenson for village residents and businesses to dispose of recyclable materials at town's recycling center at the town garage in the village, which is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, 8 a.m.to 3 p.m. The current curbside collection for village residents will also continue briefly and then be terminated.
The board also adopted the Wellhead Protection Plan prepared by Wisconsin Rural Water Association, to protect the groundwater that supplies the three wells from which water is drawn for the municipal water system.
In connection with the wellhead protection plan, the village last year began the process of creating an Extraterritorial Zoning Ordinance that includes portions of the Town of Stephenson that lie within a mile and a half of village limits. The town and village each appointed three representatives to an Extra Territorial Zoning (ETZ) Committee, which held its first meeting on on Thursday, April 18 and is to meet in the village at 7 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month for a period of about two years, or until its work is done.
In preparation for the upcoming ETZ Committee meeting which was held on Thursday, May 23, the Village Board discussed and approved a statement of proposed purposes and possible zoning districts within the ETZ boundaries. (See related story of that meeting in today's Peshtigo Times.)
