Speedway Fans Allow Extra Time for Travel

Fans coming south to attend the weekly stock car races at Norway, Mi. Speedway should allow a little extra travel time on Friday nights. That's because the bridge on US-8 by the Wisconsin/Michigan border will be closed for repairs. The work will require detouring traffic on northbound US-8 will be detoured via US-141 through Niagara and on to US-2 near Quinnesec. The detour will be reversed for southbound traffic.
Weekly Friday night racing kicks off May 31 sponsored by CJ Graphics, Bimbo's Pizza, Longbranch Saloon and Proformance Pros. The grandstand opens at 5 p.m., time trials begin at 5:45 p.m. with the first green flag of the '19 season flying at 7 p.m. Coca Cola late models, Auto Value super stocks, 141 Auto stock cars and stock fours will compete weekly while the Ken's Sports sport trucks will battle on roughly an every other week basis.
