Robert Bruce Phelps, Jr, 78, of Porterfield, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on Monday, May 27, 2019 at Rennes Nursing Home in Peshtigo.
He was born on Feb. 2, 1941, in Milwaukee to the late Robert Bruce Phelps, Sr and Joan (Stoltz) Reitman. He married Mary Loretta McCaig on Dec. 15, 1972. He worked as a machinist at Briggs and Stratton in Wauwatosa for 33 years before retiring in 1995. He spent his retirement years enjoying the peace and quiet of the great outdoors with his wife, Mary, working on his train set, "fixing" things in his workshop and fishing with his brother, Mike. He looked forward to visits from his son, Bob and joking around with his grandchildren. He was a kind man that was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed him.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Phelps; his son, Bob (Jenny) Phelps, two grandchildren; two sisters, Mary MacDonald, Carol (Jim) Jonovic, one brother, Mike (Sally) Phelps, and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
