Elizabeth "Betty" Jane (Seaman) Moser
Issue Date: May 29, 2019
Elizabeth "Betty" Jane (Seaman) Moser, 94, of Crivitz, Wisconsin, passed away while surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Aurora Hospital in Marinette after a brief illness. Born on April 9, 1925 to Frank and Elizabeth (Brandmueller) Seaman, she spent her early years on the family farm below Sandstone Dam in the Crivitz area. She moved with her parents to Milwaukee in the late 1930's, graduating from "Old" Custer High School in 1943. She married Roland Moser on Dec. 7, 1946 in Milwaukee. During the next 13 years, Roland and Elizabeth became proud parents of four children; Randal, Robert, Judith and Kent.
In 1956, Elizabeth, her husband and her parents returned to the Crivitz area and began building "the cabin". They spent all their vacations improving it and eventually moved there permanently in 1980.
The proud mother of four children, she worked various jobs throughout her working years, always working off shifts to be able to be around her family as much as possible. An avid reader, she regularly read 1 to 2 books a week. Elizabeth also liked to shop, especially at Gimbel's Dept. Store in Milwaukee. Her family and friends often joked that the reason Gimbel's closed was because Elizabeth moved to Crivitz! Most importantly, Elizabeth will be remembered as a kind woman who always put the needs of her family and friends ahead of her own.
Elizabeth is survived by her four children, Randal, Robert (Mary), Judith (Mike) Smith and Kent; also 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Roland.
Per her request, no public service or memorial will be held.
Memorial donations can be made to the Crivitz Public Library in her name.
Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home of Marinette is assisting the family.
