Paul James Nelson, 58, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 at his home in Dayton, Oh.
Born April 28, 1961 in Marinette, he graduated from Bayport High School, Howard/Suamico and was honored for perfect attendance for over eight years in Ashwaubenon. He worked in construction and relocated to Salt Lake City, then in Dallas, Tx. He obtained a CDL license and became a private contractor driving truck all over the United States for 15 years. At the time of his passing, worked as a property manager and construction, maintenance.
He liked historical sites and visited many in his travels. An avid reader of history books, he had a love for animals, especially his dogs.
He was a member of five generations on both the paternal and maternal sides of the family. He will be remembered for his artistic abilities, love of reading and animals, his quick wit and sense of humor
Survivors include his companion for over 30 years, Donna Lukasik, Dayton, Oh.; a son, Brian Regal (Amy), Appleton; three grandchildren; his mother, Evelyn Kasal-Vanden Boogard (Tom), DePere; his father, Peter E. Nelson and a brother, Karl J. Nelson, both of Sarasota, Fla.; two nieces; two nephews; a sister, Tina M. Nelson of Green Bay and many aunts; uncles; cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Myron and Hildegard Kasal; paternal grandparents, Everett and Esther Nelson; a nephew, Matthew Hendry and a cousin, Matthew Strojny.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 24 at The Veteran's of Foreign Wars Hall (now known as Duck Creek Pub), 754 Riverview Drive, Howard, WI from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. A memorial fund will be established in his name.
