Issue Date: July 31, 2019
Carol Mae (Borman) Thoney, 79, of Daggett, Mi., passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Allouez Parkside Village in Allouez.
Born Nov. 27, 1939, to the late Harry and Evelyn (Nault) Borman, she lived her childhood in Escanaba and while attending the U.P. State Fair, she met her future husband, Nick and they married on June 10, 1961. They owned and operated TO-NE-HIL Farms. Even working long hours on the farm, she raised three children, was a good cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family, especially over the Holidays, with potato salad being her most requested dish. She had a flair for crafts, canning and keeping a clean home.
A dedicated mother, she treasured her children and loved time with them, but especially loved being a grandma and great-grandma. They were her pride and joy and always put a smile on her face. She was a modest, caring, giving and loving lady.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela (Roger) Cole and Beth (Jed) Comyne; a son, Brien (Haili) Thoney; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Doris (Bill) Lewis, Joyce (Bob) Heynssens and Linda (Harlan) Dalgord and special friend, Sharon Wilson.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Nick and two sisters, Elaine Borman and Darlene Perlick.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home of Stephenson is assisting the family.
