Susan (Susie) Lynn (Churka) Atwood, 68, of Crivitz, passed away Monday, July 22, 2019.
Born May 31, 1951 in Milwaukee, she graduated from Menominee Falls High School in 1969 and moved to the Crivitz area with her family in 1971.
She enjoyed serving people in her lifetime by waitressing at the Platter, R Family, Shaffers and SoupTo Nuts and always greeted guests with a smile. If you were with her on your birthday, she would sing you a special version of the Happy Birthday song. Her greatest love was to serve the Lord and her faith was evident in her words and actions.
As a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Crivitz, she was active in ladies bible study and ladies aid, loved time with family and playing with her nieces, nephews, adopted grandchildren and her cat. She was loved and will be missed for her kind heart, warm smile and the love she showed to all.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Atwood; a son, Dustin (Misty) Atwood; sisters, Kathy Aho and Kitty (Derick) Paider; step-children, Dale (Renee) Atwood, Chad (Margie) Atwood and Shara (Rich) Malone; a brother-in-law, Steve Ahrens; 14 step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Carol and Andrew Churka, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Stika; a sister, Debbie Ahrens and a brother-in-law, David Aho.
Family will greet relatives and friends Sunday, Aug. 4 at Grace Lutheran Church, 716 Henriette Ave. in Crivitz from noon until time of the service at 2 p.m. followed by a luncheon. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Crivitz is assisting the family with arrangements
