Carole Faye (Betzinger) Johnson, 89, of Menominee, Mi, passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019 at Rennes Health Center-East in Peshtigo.
Born Sept. 17, 1929 in Menominee, to the late George and Ora (Boyer) Betzinger, she graduated from Menominee High School in 1947. On Feb. 2, 1951, she married Maurice Johnson at Fort Carson, Co. She worked at L.E. Jones Company for 28 years, retiring as employment manager.
A member of Resurrection Parish, she served on the American Legion Auxiliary Post 146 for 56 years and was a member of the Bay Area Medical Center Auxiliary.
She enjoyed camping, boating, traveling with her husband on their motorcycle, traveling internationally with her family and treasured time at their cottage on the Menominee River, but mostly cherished time with her daughter and son-in-law, grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
She is survived by her husband of over 68 years, Maurice; a daughter, Robin Jo (Jeffrey) Jensen of New Franken; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; nieces; nephews and other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Kent Martin Johnson; two sisters, Pearl Ravet and Elizabeth "Betty" Cullen and four brothers, Irvin "Buck" Betzinger, Harold "Swede" Betzinger, Donald "McGee" Betzinger and Eugene "Pete" Betzinger.
Visitation will be held at Cadieu Funeral Home in Menominee on Thursday, Aug. 29 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Resurrection Parish. Fr. Brian Gerber will preside followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee.
