E. James "Jim" Walter, 91, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019 at Atrium Post Acute Care of Menominee.
Born July 8, 1928 in Manitowoc, to the late Earl and Martha (Weisman) Walter, he received a Master's Degree from Northern Michigan University. On July 6, 1957, he married the former Carol Haulotte in Menominee and she preceded him in death on May 12, 2016. He worked in education at Menominee Area Public Schools as an English Teacher, Guidance Counselor and Principal at Menominee Middle School.
He enjoyed golfing, singing and was active in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where he sang in the Church Choir.
He is survived by a daughter, Wendy (Larry) Swanson of Michigan City, Ind. and a brother, Richard Walter of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation was held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 11 a.m. until time of a funeral service at noon. Rev. Mark Laatsch officiated, followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery. Cadieu Funeral Home of Menominee assisted the family with arrangements.
